When you visit our Website, the server automatically logs general technical data like the IP address and operating system of your device, the date and time of your visit, the website you came from, and the type of browser you use to access our Website.
When you sign up for the Sparkli app or our newsletter, we collect your email address, any professional role you self-identify (e.g., "Parent" or "Teacher"), as well as limited technical data (e.g., the timestamp of your signup).
We use technical/essential cookies to ensure site functionality and security.
We do not use any non-essential cookies (e.g. for marketing or analytics purposes).
We track overall trends in the traffic of our Website using anonymous, aggregated usage data through plausible.io’s cookie-less, privacy-friendly analytics.
Important: Our Website does not require children to submit any personal data.
3.2. When you interact with us on social media
We maintain pages and profiles on popular social media platforms. When you interact with us on these platforms (e.g., by liking or commenting on our posts or sending us messages), we receive and process the corresponding data from you. In addition, the platforms provide us with certain information, such as statistics on the use of our content.
Please note: The operators of the platforms analyze your behavior and may combine this data with other information they already have about you. They also use this data for their own purposes and on their own responsibility, for example for advertising, market research, or to further develop their services. 4. For what purposes do we process your personal data ?
We process your personal data primarily for the following purposes and based on the following grounds for processing:
To prepare and conclude contracts in the course of our business activities.
Based on and within the scope of your consent, if applicable. You can revoke your consent at any time.
To comply with legal obligations (e.g., keeping of business records).
Where legally permitted, based on our interests to communicate with you and third parties (even outside the preparation or conclusion of a contract), to provide the Website, to optimize your user experience, to maintain and potentially expand our business relationship with you, to improve, expand, and market our offerings, to ensure IT security and data protection, to prevent crimes and other misconduct, and to enforce, defend, or avert legal claims.
Based on your consent or our interest in informing existing customers about new developments, we may send you updates and announcements related to our launch or similar marketing messages (e.g. via a newsletter). To help us understand how you use our offers and customize them for you, we track whether and when you open these marketing messages. 5. Children’s privacy commitment
Through our Website, we only collect personal data from adults (parents, guardians, or educators). If we become aware that we have inadvertently gathered personal data from a child under the age of 13, we will take prompt measures to delete such data from our records. While the Website is for adults, the Sparkli App is built from the ground up to be COPPA and GDPR-K compliant, including through the following measures:
We do not use behavioral tracking or advertising on platforms intended for children.
All children’s accounts in the Sparkli App will be tied to an adult’s account to ensure parental or school consent and oversight.
Use of the Sparkli App with only a pseudonym (i.e., without disclosing children’s names) will be possible.
6. When do we disclose your personal data to third parties?
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We use a limited number of service providers for the purposes described in this privacy notice (in particular, for Website hosting, secure email delivery and analytics). These service providers receive the data they need to provide their services to us.
In this context, we also transfer personal data between countries. We limit the transfer of personal data outside Switzerland, the EU, and the EEA as far as possible, but it cannot be entirely avoided. If the respective country does not have a level of data protection recognized by Switzerland, we use standard contractual clauses to ensure adequate data protection, where necessary and possible supplemented by additional security measures.
Personal data in the Sparkli App will be stored within Switzerland, the EU, or the EEA only.

Your data is stored securely and processed in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) and the EU GDPR.
We use appropriate and state-of-the-art technical and organizational security measures against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized manipulation, deletion, alteration, access, disclosure, use, or loss of your personal data.

We store your personal data only for as long as and to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice or for legal reasons.

If provided for and subject to the conditions of the applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights in connection with your personal data:
